Making a new table

Phase 1
Thanks to Victor Barranco for the turn-a-hardwood-floor-into-a-table idea. We bought 42 square feet of Brazilian Koa (also called tigerwood) flooring that is about to become our dining room table. Our old one is cracked an falling apart. Sometime soon, when you come to our house for gastronomic experimentation, you won't have to worry about the table falling out from under your plate.

In case anyone is wondering what the square hole is, that's from when we were still contemplating inlaying tiles for place-settings.

Zombie blog

is back from the dead, with a new name and new drive. Expect to see a lot of pictures of projects that James, Will, Ethan, and I have going on, along with links to stuff we're looking at, doing, thinking about, along with the occasional run-of-the-mill post. And with that, let blogging commence!

We're back, part II

And now Ethan, who has magically grown since the last post! (So has Will, for that matter-- he's so tall. Ethan wants to do everything he does-- check out the last picture)

We're back, part I

With pictures! It was a zoo day today, and I got some pretty good ones of the little guys. Brace yourself!
Will first:

Be afraid

Be very afraid. For a massive picture dump is about to commence:

Will opening presents from Meme and Grandpa Ralph. Please note that my elbow only LOOKS like it's planted in Ethan's face.



Will absolutely adores that purple T-rex. He says "He's my best friend. I love him". Which is stinking cute, albeit a little funny for something that's so obviously carnivorous.

Here's a couple of shots of Ethan, who:
is now three months old,
sleeps through the night,
loves James' beard,
belly laughs if you catch him in the appropriate mood,
is VERY ticklish,
and loves to be held by Will.

Will requested peperoni pizza for his birthday dinner, which he thoroughly enjoyed:
